Surprise visitor at dinner
The day included a happy note, as Hershey Volunteer fire department member Rod Verhagen, who has been deployed to Iraq since July 15, made a surprise visit to the spaghetti dinner fundraiser. Verhagen is home on a two-week leave.

Pahrump will acquire pair of Dodge ambulances
The Pahrump Town Board authorized the Pahrump Valley Fire Rescue Service (PVFRS) to let out bids for two new ambulances. Fire Chief Scott Lewis explained to the board that the new vehicles are desperately needed.

County to transfer money to cover expenses
